Air source heat pumps transfers heat from the outside air to water, heating your rooms via radiators or underfloor heating. It can also heat water stored in a hot water cylinder. It works by transferring heat from the outdoor air to the indoor air or vice versa, depending on the season.
In the winter, an air source heat pump absorbs heat from the outdoor air and uses it to warm the air inside the home. In the summer, the process is reversed, and the heat pump absorbs heat from the indoor air and releases it outside, cooling the indoor air in the process.
